He does look like he can be a real steal for the Bears. Man, if the OL can
protect whomever is at QB and the QB can get the WRs the ball, next year
could be fun with Forte, Bennett and Monk in the mix with Hester, Olsen,
Bradley and booker. With olson on one side and Monk on the other, Rexton
will have their choice of whom to throw the jump ball to in the redzone.

It's just that you see these comparisons for every team. There's no way

as

Bears

With respect to Monk..... This is a guy that was absolutely their go to
receiver in 2006, but got hurt during a full-pads practice right before the
'07 season began. His knee got knocked
by a defender's helmet. Two scopes on the knee later, he should have been
red-shirted, but he tried to play on the knee that wasn't close to being
game ready. He scored once every 5 times he touched the ball in '06 and
had almost 1,000 yards in a tough SEC Conference and no good QB to throw him
the ball.
He still wasn't full strength at the combine, but is real close to 100%
now...
This could could be a huge HUGE steal in this draft.
Sounds a little like inside info....... Well, one of Monk's good friends is
a guy by the name of Brandon Lynch. He has played AAU basketball with Monk
and they are real good friends. ESPN's Chris Mortensen's son is also at
Arkansas. When Mortensen was on TV during the draft, the yells in the
background were coming from his son and Brandon, who were in the next room
playing with their Wii....
My close friend here in Wisconsin is originally from Arkansas and Brandon
Lynch is his nephew...
So color me a huge fan of one Marcus Monk!!! Not only do I hope he makes
the team, but hope he comes into the NFL the way Colston in New Orleans did
(a late round pick with nowhere to go but up). We would all love that,
wouldn't we????
