[CBFF] Long goodbye -- chicagotribune.com

I'm digging into some stuff and I'll have more later, but you know that Griese had a QB rating of 75.6 on the year and 10 TD to 12 INTs. In comparison is Orton with 73.9, 3TDs and 2 INTs and Grossman with 66.4, 4 TDs and 7 INTs.

Griese wasn't nearly as bad as everyone remembers. His worst game was Det. with a 38.3 rating, after that the games were all 68.3 and above including three over 89. Grossman's worst was 27.5 and of his four full games back he had one above 89, two in the 80s and one at 66.9. Orton's three games were 59.5, 103.2 and 77.7.

Griese's yards per attempt were at 6.9 while Grossman was at 6.3 and Orton at 6.0. Orton was up around 7 in his last two games, but he just didn't throw often enough to offset that first game.

Perfectly put into perspective.

I am in the keep Orton/Grossman and draft a QB camp. The only issue
that could have JA keep Griese over Rex is the fact that the former is
under contract (and we'd take a cap hit for cutting him) and the
latter is not. If Vegas had a line on this I'd put my money down on
Orton/Griese/draftee.
