THey both had bad games. You can't point to any one person in the entire Bears organization and say that THEY were the SOLE reason the Bears didn't make the playoffs. The closest you could come is Ted Philips for hiring Angelo/Smith or whatever McCaskey hired Philips and pissed away all the capable people during the 90s.
I'm not bashing Rex. I don't think he had a good season and I don't think he's good enough to get another shot in Chicago. I just think people trying to blame Griese are on the wrong track. He wasn't any worse than the other QBs and you could make the argument that he's better.
