Or perhaps it was due to Lovie's stubbornness that prevented him from
giving Orton a shot because Grossman was "the chosen one." Even when
Griese came in he was clearly designated a backup after everyone
clamored for the Bears to sign a veteran QB behind the injury prone
Grossman. I think we're beyond that point now since Orton sat a full
year, the first 12 games of this year, and proved capable in his three
recent starts.
