[CBFF] Long goodbye -- chicagotribune.com

Going with a Kurt Warner type gives you the same thing that a Griese gives you
a known commodity at a commiserate price which is not going to become a top
notch QB. i.e. I don't see the point wrt your argument. So, it seems that we
are all saying approximately the same thing. We need 2 QBs with experience
(preferably with upside) and one unknown (be it a draft pick or FA) who we
"see what he has". Unfortunately, my other point is you rarely really see what
someone has until your other players fail or go down, just because coaches are
reluctant to turn the franchise over to an unknown (see Orton who actually had
some track record). I think it is likely we will have 2 of the 3 current QBs
on the roster next year (one of which will probably be Orton). I expect the
third will be your requested wild card, but I doubt that will really make you
happy because the wild card would have a very difficult time finding his way
to the field next year.
