 1. Rex Redux. The Bears would like to re-sign Rex Grossman to compete
for the No. 1 quarterback job at training camp, a cheaper option but
not a bad idea with all the other needs.

 2. Guess the new RB. Cedric Benson probably will start training camp
as a backup to either a free agent or a rookie but will get one last
chance to save his career in Chicago.

 3. Be realistic about losing free agents. The Bears will monitor the
market for their most pricey free agents, such as Lance Briggs,
Bernard Berrian and Brendon Ayanbadejo, but they have low expectations
of re-signing them.

 4. Remember the franchise tag. If the Bears conclude they want to
keep Berrian in town, they can apply the same franchise tag to him,
which they used last year on Briggs, and it might not be a bad thing
to consider.

 5. Sorry, Mike Brown fans. Asked about the popular safety, Angelo
didn't rule a return out but said: "How am I going to count on Mike
Brown? Mike has been hurt a lot."
