The approach that made Packers GM Ted Thompson an easy target when Green Bay wasn't winning apparently makes him admirable <http://www.packersnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080301/PKR07/803010518/1989/frontpage>  coming off a 13-victory season. The initial wave of free agency always generates headlines and excitement, but the Packers aren't alone in their restraint. About two-thirds of NFL teams had not signed an unrestricted free agent during the first 24 hours of the signing period. We'll see plenty more deals as the days continue, but most will not feature massive signing bonuses.
