Right, Boldin was a second round pick in the same draft as Johnson and Fitzgerald was drafted a year later. You'd have to assume that they figured Johnson was the guy who would catch 100 balls when they drafted him and Boldin was an opportunity pick. So, to me, that raises doubts about his ability that the Cardinals immediately rejected him for a guy they didn't think was as talented. Obviously Fitzgerald was picked more for his perception as a rare talent and relationship with Green, but it is something to keep in mind when looking at him.

Johnson's rookie season Boldin caught 101 balls. Fitzgerald came on
the following season.
