Not sure there is a strong correlation between his usual pothead
cluelessness and a lack of aggression.

That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bears take the same
wait-and-see attitude with this story.  There's bound to be more details
come out, and it would be wise not to go only off of the report filed by the
cops.  I would not be surprised if cops especially play tough guy with a
sports star, just to see if they can't escalate the confrontation and make
the news.  Even if the charges are eventually dismissed, the arresting
officers will only get a little scolding by the chief and everyone will
remember the incident as an indictment of the athlete.

That being said, I am inclined to believe at least the intoxication part of
the story.  Refusing the further sobriety tests is itself a crime, so
there's another one.  For my part, the Bears don't need any more news than
that to cut Benson.  I'd be fine with it.  But I don't expect that's going
to be their immediate response.
