What the real difference between drafting a QB in the 6th or 7th round
and waiting until after the draft to sign someone as an undrafted FA?
I think we're looking at a marginal difference in talent. Plus the
fact that both guys came from small schools (like Tony *cough* Romo)
means we can't possibly know as much about them as the other draftees.
Steve, I agree that the teams isn't really looking that hard, mainly,
as has been stated, they concentrated the draft picks on guys they
thought could contribute right away. QB was not on that list. Chris
and others have stated that the '09 draft will be deeper for QB
prospects so it could be part of JA's "master plan" to wait. Plus by
then the Rex/Kyle thing will have been sorted out, for better or for
worse.
