Tom,
Even though I agree slightly more with Jason than you, he started his
post with this disclaimer:

"Well first, let me sip some navy and orange kool-aid. *sip*"

"Much worse???" I think there will be some growing pains, but if
Williams is worth his lofty first round status then the learning curve
shouldn't be too steep. At least he'll be able to practice daily
against a good Bears DL.

I really like(d) Berrian, but some of his lapses were frustrating. He
was never going to be a guy who will consistently beat you......a good
#2 or 1A.

>From a size and speed standpoint Berrian and Lloyd are nearly equals,
but obviously their production to date has diverged. I still think we
have a slight uptick with Booker over the current Moose. With Bennett
plus Rashied coming back I think our WR corps is about equal overall
to last season (which isn't really very good).

Olsen was a rookie and Hester wasn't really utilized as much as he could have.

I'm not sold on Hester as a regular part of the offense. Maybe with
Forte in at RB you can stay with a single back slot Hester at WR more
often. It will be interesting to see how the personnel will be
utilized since you potentially have new guys at three offensive skill
positions.

I think a "wash" is the worst case scenario, but then again I'm not
predicting the stars and the moon. The biggest positional question
mark is WR. Even if Rex/Kyle Kyle/Rex is a "wash" over '07 the running
game should be better one way or another. Either Benson improves or
Forte plays (or or we go with two backs regularly).
