check out Bearcats tackle via Chicago Breaking Sports on 3/25/10
By Brad Biggs
The Bears sent offensive line coach Mike Tice to Cincinnati to conduct
a private workout Thursday with Bearcats offensive tackle Jeff
Linkenbach, according to a source close to the program.
The Bears already had scheduled Linkenbach to make an official
pre-draft visit to Halas Hall. He played primarily left tackle during
his career in college and was a second-team All-Big East performer.
Linkenbach was not invited to the combine and did not participate in
any postseason all-star games, so the Bears need to do their extra
homework on him. They consider him as a late-round prospect or a
potential priority free agent. The visit to Halas Hall will give more
members of the organization the opportunity to meet Linkenbach, who is
6-foot-6, 312 pounds. More importantly, the Bears will be able to give
him a physical and get medical information. Teams are not permitted to
work players out on their property, so Tice had to make the trip
Thursday in order to put him through drills.
Linkenbach reportedly also has drawn interest from Indianapolis and
Miami.
